The Story Behind OrsonForge

OrsonForge

Every project starts with a story.

For me, OrsonForge is more than just a domain name or a future company. It is a mix of things that have followed me throughout my life: curiosity, creativity, technology, family, and a strange lifelong connection to bears.

The name Orson comes from a finnish name connected to bear cubs. Bears have always meant something special to me. I grew up loving teddy bears, and even today they still carry a feeling of comfort, strength, curiosity, and adventure. Later in life, that connection became even more personal when my sons were also given names inspired by bears.

So when it came time to create something of my own, the name felt right immediately.

The second part, Forge, represents creation through building, experimenting, and shaping ideas into something real. A forge is a place where raw materials become tools, where imagination turns into craftsmanship, and where persistence slowly becomes skill. That meaning reflects the kind of projects I love working on: coding, electronics, embedded systems, ESP32 projects, problem solving, and constantly learning by making things.

OrsonForge became the combination of both worlds:

  • the curiosity and warmth symbolized by the bear cub
  • and the maker spirit of the forge, where ideas are built into reality

This site is a home for my projects, experiments, and ideas. Some will be small, some unfinished, some ambitious, and some maybe even useful. But all of them are part of the same journey: learning by building.

Welcome to OrsonForge.
